THIRDNOTCHER
“That movie was so good!”, Ivy gushed to us.
“Yeah, I want to shine too!”, I chimed in.
We just finished watching “Stardust” at Trinoma. The three of us – Ivy, Phin, and I, were freeand we decided to spend it watching a movie together.
“So what do we do next?”, Ivy asked.
“Why don’t we treat Phin to some Turtle Pie cake at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf? She deserves it after the board exams.”, I suggested.
“Wow! I want to try that!”, Phin said happily.
Phin smiled at us and we all went to hang out at The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf located at the 4th level of Trinoma. The barista greeted us as we entered the cafĂ©. We ordered some Chai Tea Latte and of course, the celebration cake – Turtle Pie! We shared the cake while we talked about the movie and other future plans.
“I’m so proud of you Phin! You’re the thirdnotcher!”, I blurted out. Then we all laughed. I accidentally said “thirdnotcher” instead of “third topnotcher”. I got a postcard from the table and wrote down “Congratulations Phin! Love, Katherine”. Ivy wrote a note, too. Phin thanked us as she finished her turtle pie and we gulped down our drinks.
We finally parted ways and I just smiled thinking that even if the celebration was small. I know that Phin would definitely cherish it in her heart.
