VJ for a day!
I know I've heard it somewhere that people will someday get their 15-seconds of fame. What about 2 minutes of fame? XD
I joined the RushTV promo Nescafé Barkada Album last last week because I was bored at home. I just sent them a write-up and pictures of our trip to Subic last year. I wasn't really aiming to win, I only wanted to do something. Then I got an email last week that I was chosen! Then we'd have to shoot the VJ segment. Haaaa??? I was so surprised at this. I was thinking, I am not ready to be on TV! @_@
But I didn't really do anything about the whole thing until Sunday came and I had to confirm my attendance and write a writeup. So I rushed doing the write up and editing the pictures (because the colors were bland) before finally going to sleep at 3am in the morning. Then I had to wake up at 5:30am because we had to be at the studio at 8am. I felt so groggy during the whole waking-up thing, I couldn't even open my eyes. >< But the taping awaits and I have to be prompt so I just woke myself up with a hot shower and went off to meet Ivy.
I was shocked to know how the bad the traffic was that Monday morning. Just going to the MRT was tough, it was harder to actually board the MRT! O_O Good thing my Mom gave me her MRT card so I didn't have to fall in line, but the MRT lines had ended up to the ground level and even extending to the road! IT WAS THAT BAD! The very first time I experienced that amount of people there.
I was late meeting Ivy, due to those circumstances and the MRT driver waiting for people that were pushing and shoving others to finally behave. We didn't know how to actually go to the Studio but Milo said that we could walk from the MRT to that location. So we walked, and walked, and after walking for about a mile... we finally tried asking for directions. Turns out it was so far away from the MRT and we really had to board a jeep just to get there. O_O
When we finally got to the studio, there were other people there. It turns out we were not the only chosen barkada, there were a lot more. Hehe... Anyway, since Milo asked who was going to do the VJ thing, I told him that I wanted to do it with Ivy! And he agreed, yay! :D
We had makeup and then the script was given. We memorized a few lines then when it was time for the camera, we just smiled and did our stuff! We only had a few takes, a lot of bloopers too! Hehe... it was fun to do that segment despite the nerve-wracking attention you get from everyone in the room. But we were really hungry afterwards. I mean, Ivy wasn't even able to get breakfast! We made a new friend that day, Gladys, another Nescafe winner. She was really nice, turns out she's a nursing student. I even got her number and friendster! Hehe... XD
After the shoot, we went to Ivy's house and had lunch there. Then we went to Trinoma where Ivy bought new sandals and other necessities. Then we had coffee at TCBTL with a slice of Sansrival with Pistachio cake. It was funny when I got the order because I forgot which one was mine and which one was Ivy's. When I drank the first cup I got, I said it was probably mine because I could taste the mint (I ordered Moroccan Mint and Ivy got Chai). But Ivy said that we might have mixed it up so we switched cups and tried to taste it. I really couldn't tell if I got mine correct because there was a lot of foams on top. It was kinda hard until we got the foam off. Ehehe! XD We stayed there for an hour and a half planning for the Halloween party on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to this party. :D When we finished our coffee we walked around Trinoma before finally going home.
Right now, my legs hurt. Most probably due to excessive walking. XD
Oh yeah! And I finished my enrollment at a new record! One hour to enroll! Woohoo! I definitely rule! I've been pretty lucky with the CRS since I started using it (which is like.. always) and I always got more than half of what I enlisted. Usually around 13-17 units everytime. So I wasn't really surprised when I got all my subjects this semester because there was a time that I got all my subjects in the CRS and it took me one day to finish up to the assessment part so I had to go back the next day for the payment (this was around 3rd year or 4th year). Plus the fact that I'm on the priority list because I AM GRADUATING. (Wow... that feels so good to type and to hear! XD) Now I'm setting a new record with enrolling in just one hour! Whee! I woke up really late, around 10:30am because I went to sleep at 2am (because I was chatting with my parents XD). Then there was a lot of rainshowers because of the typhoon Kabayan (which is moving away from the Philippines) and I didn't want to get wet so I waited for the rains to stop. Finally it did stop, around 1:45pm so I hopped on a jeep and went to UP. The ride usually takes around 20-25 minutes to go from my home to UP but this time it took me 45 minutes just to get there! O_O The traffic was bad... mainly because of the stupid tricycle drivers and other private vehicles who wouldn't give way. =_= I was feeling pretty bad when I got to school because I was worried that I might not be able to finish everything in one day (and I already bought my tuition fee!) When I asked for my enlistment results, I was surprised that they couldn't find my form 5A! Well, it turns out that they were not able to print it so I only had to wait for 3 minutes. :P Then I had it signed for pre-advising and went to the next part. I got my form 5 and they even gave me a token because I'm graduating. I picked a Kitkat bar! Hehe... XD I wrote down my courses and then went to the library for clearance, then back to the department for the post advising, checking and assessment. I also met CarlNic at the department! He's going to enroll for an MS degree... pretty cool! :) Then I went to AS to pay for my tuition fee. Took me less than 10 minutes for the payment. Yay! XD
After that I got my classcard in Physics 73 and looked for my classcard in Physics 73.1 (the laboratory part) but it wasn't there. I also dropped by S lab just to see how things were. Then I went home and tried to keep my eyes open for RushTV at Studio 23. Hehe...
So that's it! ;)
